I'm a fourth year student from Ireland and as part of my project, attempting to build a non-contact meausurement system for surface profiling and analysis of polished surfaces of injection mould dies, my reasearch has led me to the conclusion that the use of a Blu Ray laser pickup and VCM unit for a Blu Ray player could achieve the desired resolution for effective surface profiling at a reasonable price.
I'm having some difficulty accessing datasheets for the laser pickups and was wondering if anyone could recoment a unit that i can access datasheets for. I'm trying to make sure i purchase a unit that has the highest measurment range possible.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
