Blu-ray diodes

I've heard a lot about these going for about $20-30. The only place I've seen them that cheap is on the group buys, and on that website, it says its finished for now. Does anyone know where I can get one cheap?

I bought the diode for mine from here $30USD for <5, $27 if you buy >5(shipping extra). I bought two and was able to extract the diode from the first no problem and it worked perfectly the first time. The pinout for the ps3 diode can be found on the site if memory serves me correctly it has five pins. Oh, by the way, it has a couple of really great little Nickel Neodymium magnets in it which are great for just whatever but just make sure you get those out after safely and carefully removing the diode.
 
Would ike the plans for making a pointer from the extracted diode from a Playstation 3. Any help out there? Need the pin-out, reccomended driver, power supply and peak output you can get in MW. Have seen some on YouTube, one had veriable output, and totally visable beam! but no real plans I can find anywhere....
 
im using DDl's driver, just instead of 2-10 Ohm resistors use 1-33 Ohm, and use a regular 9 v i saw the pin out in one of the sections, it was in the first 3 threads

Can you still buy DDl's driver? When the latest GB ended it looked like you couldn't purchase them anymore. If they are still available, is there a link to them that you have? thanks
 
i believe that was his GB for the blu rays.  you can buy all the parts for his driver from radioshack, thats what i did.  ill post back with the part #. Blue fusion may have some extra drivers from his GB that will work, i think you just have to add the resistor of your choice and solder something else he mentioned that i cant remeber for it to work with BR LD.

271-265 - pot (if you want it)
271-1104- 33 Ohm resistor (for Blu Ray)
271-1301- 10 Ohm resistor (for red LD)
276-1101- 1N4001 silicone diode
276-1778- LM317T voltage regulator
you also need a capacitor, 47uF 35V is what DDL used, i also read you can use a 10uF. i dont know anything about capacitors i just followed directions. radioshack also has switchs, battery holders, project boxs, artic silver, pci boards, soldering gun

Just choose between the 1k ohm pot and the rheostat, or you can just skip them if you don't want to adjust the current. ;)
EDIT: The list shows a pack of 5 10 ohm resistors, those are for red diodes, for blu-ray use a 33 ohm resistor.
