Big disappointment

I just got a green 95mW laser. I was so excited, when i got it out the brightness of it was really cool, but when i tested the burning power, I found out it had none.

My first test was to light a match, I held it on a match for about 20 seconds and it didnt do anything but smoke... even at point blank.

Then it barley put a hole in a balloon.

The batteries is the only thing that could be wrong, they wasnt completely fresh. I wont get more till tomorrow. Anyone have tips on what I can do to get more power?

If it doesnt do better than this when i get new batteries then im not going to have a second thought and im going to ship it back tomorrow.

I got it from Dragonlasers. I havent found any black tape to test it on, so really lighting a match is the only thing it i know of it cant do. Its just that it should be able to.

I wouldn't personally trust DL... Their advertising wording turns me off...

Could possibly be you received an underpowered laser. Contact their support team and see if you can RMA it, but before that be sure to try new batteries.

try using a magnifying lens, make the dot big and see how it behaves, if you notice a rotary motion in the beam then you have a unit that is mode switching and is very common in DPSS systems, this is definate grounds for a rfund or exchange.
