Hey guys! i thought i would post a tutorial on the best DIY spark gaps ive ever made. so let me go through it (this tut will not have pics unless you guys really want them)
============================================================
materials-
copper wire - $2.00 walmart
barrier strip - $?.?? lowes (fairly cheap)

tools-
various size flat head screw drivers
needle nose pliers
============================================================
okay lets start! first your gonna take that barrier strip and look at it. there is two screws like this : and then a plastic space. you are going to cut off a piece that looks like this : : that way you have a lego looking plastic piece. this will be the body. in order to make the "gap" we need to connect the two connections on the same side. so the two wires should be on the same side. Secure them by tightening the screws. at this point one whole side is empty. the top two are filled and this leaves the empty portion looking like this . . now you cut the copper wire. cut two straight strips the same size and put them aside. tighten the copper strips into the empty ports and bend them so they are close to each other. now you can test! enjoy!

Nice!. I just ordered a simple SSTC kit. Should be lots of fun. May even be able to impress some people

Seems like a very low frequency on your coil?

Whats the power supply?

The power supply is a 2,750 volt bug zapper. This one was more of a cheap fun coil that won't zap the hell out of you if something goes wrong :)
