Best Laser For These Conditions?

What color and power laser pointer would be the best for pointing out objects in regular daylight at a distance of 50 meters which wouldn't require eye protection or cost more than $20?

It would be too hard to see and eye safe laser from that distance. Your not going to find the laser your looking for unless you spend more than $20, more like the 60-70 range at the least.

Make sure it's under 5mw if you want eye safe, and green is most visible.

Is it going to be in direct sunlight?
You have combined requirements that has pretty much made an impossible solution.
Go with a cheap 5mW 532nm green laser and hope for the best.
It will probably be putting out IR and more than 5mW so eye safety has gone right out the window.

For use outside mostly. However, would not a blue or red laser be the easiest to see because it wouldn't easily blend in with the terrain? As green laser is the same color as trees or grass or other plants and it will blend in and be more difficult to see.

You'd think - but other colours would be more readily absorbed by green. Green things reflect green and absorb other colours. Although I get your point.

The spectral visibility of green outweighs that.
Arborist use green lasers all the time.

id go with the 10mW 532nm green laser pointer with IR filter from here: LP 520nm 532nm 1-50

no laser is eye safe, just don't shine them in someones eyes, and never risk shinning a laser into someones eyes, no matter what the output power.
