Nice build, and I love the beam quality of the 405's.

Nice build brother. Does anyone know what the highest powered single mode 405 diode available? I'm assuming the 16x blue ray,s are multi mode but don't know for sure. +2 for you

Awesome A.L. !
I was just looking at those diodes in DTRs shop this morning and now you posted this, +Rep.
Thanks, that looks great.

Can you post some links or info on where you got the other parts for the build please?

Other than crazy expensive high end stuff, the BDR-209 is the strongest single mode 405nm, and as it is made to write in tiny lines on a cd the beam quality is excellent, I hope we see a 64x or even 128x bluray writer before it all goes to chip memory and cd's go the way of cassette tapes.

2-4 watts of single mode 405 in a high quality beam, that would be great and a bundle of 7 would be awesome.

Thanks for the info Cowboy. I'll look up the specs on that diode to see what the safe max output and current setting. I really love single mode diodes because a nice solid tight beam beats raw power any day. I bought a PLP520 last spring. Just waiting for some free time to build her up but I also want to build a single mode 405.
Sorry to thread jack Alien. Great looking builds you have there. I really like that host.
