Ok so it looks like thishas been touched on several times. My opoligies. I just want a straight out answer for the laser I am getting.

So I have an alpha 105 on order. What are the best non-rechargeable AA batteries you can buy for this thing. It sounds like it makes allot of difference in the performance.

thanks.

umm from what ive heard for raw power, lithiums are best
but i think alkaline have the best run time and are the cheapest, one of the two, im not sure

get energizer e2 lithiums if you want the most power, they will also outlast a alkaline 4 times over... but i dont know why you wouldnt want rechargables, they will save you a lot of money in the future a they would last about 3 times longer than alkalines.

..lazer... ;D ;D ;D

Akalines are probably the cheapest PER cell out there. They give you good voltage for a while. Nothing spectacular-not worth the price for lasers.

e2 liths are nice as well. They output 1.2V i think and last A LOT longer than regular alks. They also have a better shelf life and are lighter in weight than alks.

For cost effectiveness, though, rechargeables get the ticket. You can recharge most 100's of times. The self life can be limited but you can get a pact of 8 on ebay for like 10 bucks shipped.... and they will last you a good year, atleast.

i own an alpha 105 and i use the energizer e2 lithiums and they work awesome, it melts everything, i love it

SteelRain, the liths are 1.7V, but everything else you said is dead on.

If money isn't an issue, the best is undoubtedly Energizer E^2 lithiums. These are VERY expensive though and not economical if you use the laser a lot. Personally, I just get Energizer alkalines in bulk - that way my wallet doesn't cry when I change my batts.

Many people also like rechargeables, and if you don't mind the minor hassle of recharging them, those will be the most cost efficient.

No they won't. Sams Club has fairly cheap AA lithiums in bulk, check there. If you need AAA liths, check ebay.

If its a red laser. yes. NEVER put a 1.7 volt battery in the cheap pieces of shit pulsars Wicked sells!

Youll get an even worse heap of crap!! :P

Nope, the driver circuit in those PGL-III-A lasers that nova brands the alpha's can handle the extra voltage. Most units have a driverboard and can handle that. Its only these direct-driven diode lasers like a lot of the DIY red portable and the WL pulsar that don't have a driver circuit. The extra voltage spike from liths can kill those.

umm my energizer e2 lithiums are 1.5v its says right on the battery.?

They're made to work with normal items that take 1.5Vs since most everything has some sort of driver. Its just some of those red laser that have been made without a driver. The lithiums are notorious for peaking >1.7V though - I think you can see this on energizer's spec sheet. Same with the Duracell Power Pix batteries. Don't have to believe me here, but I'd rather you not have to learn the lesson the hard way :P

Sorry to be the one who points this out but you won't be getting any AA batteries, rechargeable or not, into your laser.

LoL sorry but yes he will! he said it was an ALPHA 105 which does in fact take AA batteries ;D

They're actually quite expensive pieces of crap, not cheap :D

Well, the goof ball that sells toast with jesus's head on it for $800 on ebay probably says the same :P

Doesnt mean its not crap as well-it means scammers will sell it and idiots/niaves/ill-informed people will buy it :P
