I came across an article about work towards creation of a true "green" LD, which also has some very interesting info about the development of high-efficiency Blue-Ray diodes, including the inner workings and problems with various types of Blu-Ray LDs! (also sheds some light as to the peculiarities of the PHR-803T, and why we are seeing such a great variance in performance between individual Blu-Ray laser diodes?)
