I'm extremely new to lasers so please don't shoot. x.x

However, I just purchased a Laserglow Lyra and I'm more than thrilled with how elegant it looks, along with it's weight.

But now I want something a bit more powerful aimed more towards Astronomy purposes, with a beam that's fairly visible in a semi-lit area while quite visible in the dark & outside, but I don't really need anything that'll start burning plastic.

..Though popping balloons looks pretty fun.

While there is no doubt that you will get top notch quality from laserglow... they are kind of pricey.

For astronomy, 35mW is enough. 50mW is more than enough. At 50mW you will not be able to pop a balloon, but you would at 100mW. (You will need goggles for that.)

Get in on the skylasers group buy and get yourself a 50mW laser...

Edit: I'm assuming you're in the US, but please add your location to your profile... oh and Welcome to LPF :)

D'oh, I knew I was forgetting something. Location added, thanks.

Hrm, the Skylaser 50mw.

I'm guessing you mean the $38 one and not the $450 one, right? ;D

LOLOL, yes, definitely not the $450 one... though I'm sure that one is great too :D

I wish I could grab one of those myself in fact, but I'm kind of a power junkie, not a wavelength collector.
