I have been lucky enough to borrow a friends Argon. It is multi line and apparantly rated at 80mw, however i believe it to be closer to 20mw.
It is a 162A from Spectra Physics. The colour is very exotic as the 488nm line is very strong from this tube. With a diffraction grating or a prism, the main componant lines can be seen ranging from violet to green. There are many more but they are in the UV and IR range (I can just about count 7 lines, 5 are very bright and 2 are very faint)
This is NOT a portable laser as the power supply alone weighs a ton and the laser head itself has a huge cooling fan that dissipates a shed load of heat from the tube.
Here is a picture of the argon with a diffraction grating to split the lines up and my blu ray labby in a little fog.
Jase.
