Anyone tried these modules ?

Jayrob did at one point I believe, as he offered to drill heatsinks for those modules as well.

Why arent these more common ?

The build quality seems better than aixiz.

Also, the module WITH a knurled focus ring all designed to take any kind of lens (including 405-G) seems like a great deal for just under 15$

yeah but an aixiz module is ~3 dollars......cant beat that :p
but then again if you want an aixiz with a glass lens it costs more...
the knurled type would go good in a pen host :p

I think that they are the source of the 405-G-1 lenses that several people offer, but you can't beat the customer service from LPF members.

Thay are the 405-G-2 lens, Jay gets his from the manufacture I think.

I Have a used these modules before, both the red and blue lens one's.
EDIT: just noticed this was in the 445 section, I havent used these with a 445nm diode.

The red lens one has the same power output as Aixiz glass for red, but has a slightly smaller beam.
The shorter module w/o the focusing nut has a just slightly deeper diode pocket.
Not much beter than a Aixiz module with a glass lens for red.

The module with the focusing nut has an even deeper diode pocket.
They are a nice alternative to a Aixiz module with a 405-G-1 lens.

The module w/o focusing nut /red lens, is not all that grate.
The modele with focusing nut /405 lens, is nice! Just need a heat sink with a 10mm hole.

w/o focusing nut in the middle one, With focusing nut far right.
