Anyone have any data for AD-7170S LDs?

I have a Sony NEC Optiarc Inc AD-7170S 18/16X drive here that somehow fails to burn CD's. It's going under the knife.

I already know it uses 5.6mm cans but am wondering if anyone has any data on the diode? I hope it will beat my current 20x monster-diode that apparantly sucks. (Chokes a bit over 300 mA)

Looks like a short open can? I have high hopes for this diode.

What were able to find on this diode? I just harvested one and am looking to see what I can do with it.
