Hey all, a friend wants to get a laser to basicaly play around with, are there any "Good" (not crap) Ebay sellers for the green laser "Pens" for under $40?

Side question, Is there a power meter anyone would recommend that wont break the bank? Ive seen Gentecs PRONTO series, but they are a bit out of my price range.

I usually check out the reviews and ratings of the sellers. As far as I know Ebay has a strong policy regarding the customers' feedback so you can usually just rely on reviews and choose any seller with the good ones

Ive seen Ebay sellers with thousands of fake reviews, and only a few under 5 stars. I was more looking for any first hand experiences.

How do you tell if the review is fake? I'm asking cause maybe I was trusted the reviews too much

Normally, a large number of reviews within a short time. A weird mix of being overly formal with bad grammar shows they are most likely not English speakers. Vague wording that could apply to anything on eBay like "Product is good" or "Amazing, Good buy"

I see. Thanks for sharing

Quite a few good ones that can burn for around $40. Usually in red, violet, or green. I buy them a dozen at a time, and when ever I'm out and about I carry a few with. They sell like hot cakes to my friends and their friends. lol. An if you contact the seller, you can get discounts.

There's some decent ones on there for $10-20, they will burn if focused on dark objects and it teaches you laser safety if you ever decide to get something more powerful, just pick a seller with good feedback and preferably inside your country (the USA I'm guessing) and you'll be ok!! If it does arrive DOA then usually eBay is very good with returns and sides with the buyer everytime.

Can you not? This post is almost a year old. I got an answer, no more input is needed.

Sorry, I didn't mean to cause any issues here, just a fellow enthusiast, saw this on the front page and took interest since I've dealt with eBay lasers a lot before. I've had some posts before that didn't get answered for months, it's not a massively sized hobby.
