Any fun uses for old coil-on-plug ignition coils?

I just replaced the coils on my bro in law's car, figured I'd see if there was any fun to be had with them before tossing.

A bit late but comapred to an oil filled cannister style, they're qutie underwheming. I've at best got a 1in light spark out of one but I was also trying to trigger it the old fashioned way instead of trying to blast it with a zvs driver.

Here's a Bausch & Lomb laser from around 1970 that uses a coil to make its quasi-CW beam. The hologram image that was included with this educational kit is shown in the inset.
