When I got my Nova X-105, it (like all Nova Lasers) it came with a Spec label.

The label gave three pieces of Info....Peak Measured Power...and Average Measured Power...and the laser's serial number.

For the life of me..I could NOT find a serial number on my laser....so I began to think..How do I know that THIS laser is the one that tested at the listed spec?!

Yes..I am suspicious by nature...but I've also been burned when I trusted a vendor.

Well tonight I found the elusive Serial Number!!!!!

It is HAND WRITTEN inside the aperture (SP?) plug!

The gold end that has the small hole where the beam comes out... (Yeah...real technical description...you find a better way to describe it!!... ;) ) If you remove it, you will see the serial number of your laser written inside!

Just thought I would share my discovery....

Yep, CNI marks the pens with what seems like sharpie inside the aperture cap. Using ethanol to clean your lens can end up removing it.

For the 60 second sample test:
Average Power: 114.2 mW
Peak Power: 130.2 mW
And for 30 second:
Average Power: 116.5 mW
Peak Power: 129.5 mW

Mine isn't really an "X-105" but it's a CNI I purchased from Pseduo.
Tests were done with a Coherent Laser Check System and a regulated power supply.

;D ;D ;D
