Advantages of Laser Over SFP

I want to know the differences between SFP and Laser in terms of performance and which one will be preferrable either SFP or Laser?

They're not mutually exclusive, so that question is incomprehensible. SFP is the form of plug, and I would assume laser is referring to fibre data transmission.
