EDIT: I buckled down and made one myself! It's over here ---> [How To] Add key switch to C6 host

Hey guys, I'm in the process of putting together a 405 that's going to put out (I hope) 500-600mw, and I'd like to add a key switch to my C6 host, preferably in the tail cap, for safety, and because turning things on with a key is instantly 300% more bad ass.

Before I go searching the internet for switches and walking around electronics parts stores with this thing, I was wondering if anyone's done this mod before, and what switch they used. I tried a few searches, but either my phrasing was wrong, or there haven't been any posts about this so far.

Any information on small, round-key switches would be awesome as well, since there's just so many for sale on line, and not all of them have proper size information, and I'd like to avoid buying as many $10 switches as possible.

With the exception of Wannaburn, I don't think there have been that many custom build lasers with key interlocks.

Afaik though he designed his hosts from the start with a key in mind, so idk if even he would be able to suggest something.

I see. Most of the ones I'm finding that are NARROW enough (~.75 in) are still at least a full inch long. I guess I'll just have to order a few, find some replacement C6 tailcaps, and get to work with the Dremel until I get something that works. I'll have to let you guys know if I pull it off, since I'm sure most members around here would love to see additional safety features on some of their gear.

EDIT: If there's a source for just the tailcaps, I'd love to know about it!

if length is the only issue, you could use a 18350 battery, with a boost driver
