Hello, I found an LM1086 inside something, could I use it instead of an LM317 inside a ddl driver? I'm trying to make a driver for my first build, a PHR-805 deal. Would it work instead of an LM317?

It should be adjustable version of the LM1086 "ADJ" Then yes you can use that , U just need to put one extra capacitor so you have them on both input and output, Rest is all the same as you do the lm317.

Look up the Data Sheet on Google and all the info that
you will require will be there...:yh:

I looked up the datasheet but I'm not sure what to make of it, and a search of it's use in a ddl here turned up one mention of sinner using it.
So basically I'm supposed to have a 10 uF capacitor before the LM1086 too?

Sorry, I did search, but did not find my answers. Would this work with two 10440s, just about? I just need an answer to be extra sure.
