I remember watching the story on the first guy who went down on his personal built bike...after a couple years recovery he repaired his bike and went back at it.

Yeah, he was trying to break his own motorless bike land record with his DIY bike.  : Now that's not just LEDifying a laser diode.  That's even more epic then most know ;D
