Hi Gabedini and welcome to the forum.
Make sure you get hold of some safety glasses first.

The driver would work, but note that you have to set the current correctly as that driver can supply 500mA and that may be enough to kill the laser diode (depending on what type it is).

The safe current that the laser diode can take varies depending on what type it is, but I would stick to 200mA or 300mA to start with. If you drive it too hard it will pop.

Make sure you have the diode in a heat sink and make sure you get the polarity right as well.
