650nm goggles?

I got my new Pulsar 125mW, and the wicked laser "sport" goggles for it, however these goggles are OD5, and through them i cannot even see the dot at all... however, i can't really look at the dot closely without the goggles.... so what kind of substitute could i use for in-between goggles?

also, if i point the laser straight through the goggles it does not send any red light through that i can see, but if i put them on and then blast straight through with my eyes closed my eyelid lights up as if someone were shining a laser or a bright light on it... but it's invisible when the eye is open...

Yeah - I too, regret getting the super high OD red goggles....but - I have more than a handfull of cheapo 5mw red pointers here to setup the experiments with, and THEN use the big guns ! 8-)

well i don't even use the OD5's... i give them to my friend who is super-paranoid about getting blinded while i'm playing with my lasers, but that's it. if i can't see the dot, i have to take them off to do anything anyway, so it's totally pointless...

and this is a 125mW red laser, not a little red one... why would they even sell goggles that totally block out even the highest red laser they sell?
