I recentrly bought 5x 5mw 635nm diodes and i want to use them as pointers. Searching on the net i found this host:
http://www.ledshoppe.com/Product/ledp/LP1064.htm
It arrived today and I just checked how easy is to fix an aixiz module inside. However, it won't work well for high powered lasers because there's almost no thermal contact between the module and the host.
Now i need a cheap driver for that diode at 50mA. I can't use a rkcstr or daedal driver because this host is for a single AAA size battery, and a lavadrive is very expensive for this task. So I thought making one of these:

because it is for a low powered application and it requires just a few parts available in SMT, so i can fit the diver inside the aixiz module.
However, simulating the circuit, the voltaje of a 3.7V li-ion will be very very close to the theorical limit for it to regulate properly. And i've also read that this kind of drivers are temperature sensitive. So I need some advice about how to do it.
I could also make a Daedal driver fitting inside an aixiz module, but that would require 2x li-ions of a very small size, meaning that i should spend money in new batteries and new charger.
I'll post pics then.
THIS POST IS SENSELESS NOW!!! SEE HOW THIS ENDED HERE:
