Hi everyone.

Nice to see a forum like this.

Newly registered, and still reading up on lasers and drivers.

I've got a question about voltage för this module.

Its driven by an ac adapter 230v > 5v DC, 1000ma

I disconnected the plus wiring and took a voltage measurement

When the diode is hooked up, it reads about 12v.
300mA.

Its also got a red one. But not interested. =')

Obviously a boost circuit here, but as soon as I disconnect the diode and go against the connector pins on the board it reads about 3.1V output.

Can someone give me a quick explanation on this type of circuit?

I'd like to make a pointer out of it, get myself a good host and so on.

But I need to know how this circuit works.

I do have some bucks and boosts lying around, the generic blue ones thats sold all over Ali and so on.

So to be straightforward I could just boost either one, or better two 18650 to 12v.

I'll some pictures of the board here too.

Just for fun:

I removed the KTP and small lens (collimator I guess) and the IR diode didn't do much of a smoking against black plastic.

Hardly anything compared to my "303" green laser, to which i lost the crystal, for other reasons, burns and smokes even wood.

Seems quite powerful.

Have a nice evening.
