has anyone bought a 26.00$ 50mw greenie from dx? i was wondering how accurate the output for those are if you know

I have bought MANY of them - they are either DEAD ON ACCURATE, one I had was al ittle lower (in the 20's) and one was REALLY high - closer to 100mw....this is out of about 10 of them or so...

i bought 6 and all of em are super bright
pretty sure its above 50mW
ill find out soon, my die4cast meter should be here this week

The true green output on a NewWish/DX 50mW is supposed to be roughly in the 38-48mW range.

Pseudo - we have had this discussion many many times, man ! :-) ALL the 50mw DX lasers I tested were very well IR filtered, and putting out 50mw of green light with the exception of two of them. Those two were still very well IR filtered, but one was underspec, and one was WAY over spec.

If you buy a DX 50mw laser - expect 50mw of Green laser goodness. {fact}

Greg, we HAVE had this conversation before. Those numbers aren't just things I pulled out of my ass:

"For 50mW its actual output power is 38-48mW." - Alice, Sales Rep. for Zhongshan NewWish Optoelectronics Co., Ltd (its a long name so it must be true)

Sorry, but I get to win this round I think :D

NO !!! You cannot win ! :P

Okay, please allow me to save SOME face then with the following statement :

All of the New-Wish styled DX lasers sold as 50mw lasers that I have purchased and or owned have been fully within the specifications, with the exception on one underspeced unit, and one freakishly higher than normal output unit. WHEW ! All of that in one sentence, too ! LOL

But - that has been my experience...and if you check my other posts throughout the forum, you will see that I am not exactly the luckiest guy on here ! LOL !!

Greg

P.S. Pseudo - you win THAT round (dangit !!!) but with my new statement, I win ! Muahahahahaha ! So, Nyah ! {Pbbbbbbbbbbt !:P }

guys, can someone help me on how to mod this to get max output?
sorry might be a very obvious question but i'm new to lasers :-(

i mean the clones. those are the ones that are $26 for 50mw.

the newwish are something like $50 i think.

yea i know but it seems those two are talking about the legit newwish ones
since pseudo has a quote from a newwish representative
but then senkat bought and tested the fake clone ones....

which makes me wonder if theyre talking about the same thing...

I am talking about the original lasers that DX sold before they got in the newer ones...I have no idea what they are called, but at the time, they were the original new-wish lasers :P

But, to answer your question about modding - since they are APC controlled, you really will nto get any kind of increase from a pot mod or the like. not without rearranging the entire driver board !

Heh, sorry to be a jerk but it still applies. That quote is from a very old message back from when 50mW was NewWish's highest model.

yeah u're right.
hey guys we're talking about the newwish clones,not the newwish!

Sorry, I have no idea about the NewWish clones. All I can guess is that they are worse than the orignal NewWish. Perhaps they are in line with the Spymodes, which don't have IR filters at all.
