445nm Lense Question

Hi,
I recently brought a laser from laserpyro who is a great guy and very honest.

445nm 500mw Dorcy host
Okay the laser is great and has good burning power in close range.
But the beam in the distance does spread and is not focused, what lense would any one recommend me to get to provide for a better long range beam and dot.
Any help is appreciated.

Anthony,

The 445nm multimode laser diodes have poor divergence and a very rectangular "dot" shape. There isn't a lot you can do about it.

I assume you are focusing the lens differently for when you are trying to shot a long distance beam and then focusing it back for burning?

Do you know what lens it has on it now? You can improve the beam slightly but it lowers the power, or you can improve the power at the expense of the beam shape.
