3 AAA in series or 3 10440 in parallel?






It depends on what they are powering. In series, the voltage adds up and the mAh (current) stays the same. So if each AAA is 1.5V and deliver say 300 mAh by putting them in series they would deliver 300 mAh at 4.5V.

Using three 10440s in parallel the voltage stays the same (4.2V) but say each cell delivers 300 mAh, by running them in parallel, they should deliver 900 mAh.

At least I think this is correct. Im sure someone will jump in here and correct me if im wrong :o

EDIT: I guess one of the pros of AAA primaries is that they're cheap and available everywhere.

I was trying to find an answer to that for a while now. It all depends of the capacity.

The 10440 in parallel suply ~4.2v and 1500mAh since each one has 500mAh.

Then I saw this on ebay:

16 AAA 3A Ni-Mh 1800mAh rechargeable battery blue LR03 | eBay

Without moding the 3xAAA holder (in series) , if you use these AAA`s, you would get about 4V at 1800mAh.

If you use a flex drive, i would choose the 3xAAA cuz they have more capacity, but honestly i dont trust the 1800mA rating.

In ebay these are in packs of 16 for ~7$ shipped. You could take a gamble and buy these, or stick to the 10440 in parallel. Your call.
