Somebody ran it at 600mA's and said it died... So later on I decided that I should buy one and SLOWLY turn up the current. It put out around 150-200mW's at 300mA's but it put out less power when it was driven at higher currents. I thought I had killed it but it goes back to normal when I turned down the current again. I bet it would probably last quite a while at 300mA's but I don't think most hobbyist would really care if they last long at 150mW's cause they usually like more power rather than more lifetime.
ah, too bad.. so its all LOC still, with no other diode even reaching this output..
seeing that there wont be faster drives, and efficiency of the optics in the sled will probably increase, there probably wont be any (affordable) red laserdiode with more output than the LOCs..
