I have a couple lasers I built years ago that use 22600s and noticed tonight when one wasn't working that the battery was starting to leak. (checked the other that uses the same battery and it was too) Figured no big deal I'll just go order a couple new ones. Seems they've stopped marking that size because I can't find them anywhere. For the old farts long time regulars one is based off the "hot lights" flashlight host and the other was a Saik flashlight host. Neither can take anything longer. Any ideas for what I can replace them with?

So i'm guessing you can't squeeze a 26650 in the host so a 18650 with a spacer tube won't fit either?

I find it strange that no one sells the 26660's anymore?? There are alot of battery stores.

22600 batteries were becoming hard to find 10 years ago.
Nobody makes or offers any devices that require them anymore and nobody bothers to make 22600s as there is no demand for them that justifies making them -no money to be made, only can be a business loss.

Make or have someone make a 5mm extension for the host battery tube you have to allow a 18650 to be used with a diameter spacer.

I had not a clue!

Thanks for the reply. Life got insane last week and I forgot about this until today. I didn't realize that 22600s were going out when I built these lasers way back when. For one of them the original flashlight used 3x AAA and I still have the holder in my parts box so I could use 3x10440s in parallel as a substitute. Run times wouldn't be the longest but I never really cared about that anyhow. If I still have the adapter for the Saik I could do the same with 3x14500 in parallel which would be about the same capacity of the old 22600. I wouldn't be surprised if someone sells those holders already configured in parallel. I may be able to modify the Saik to hold a 26650 which would be a nice upgrade. Unfortunately I don't know anyone who could make extensions for them and to be honest they'd look ugly.

edit: typos

Thats a good plan.
Can you post a pic of these lasers or just one if they look basicly the same?
Wouldn't a .100 inch wide or smaller spacer work without ruining the look of it?

Edit: Oops I thought you were looking for 26600's instead of 22600's.. :(
