2 red laser diodes from one dvd burner?

So I was ripping appart 1 cd/rw rom. And I found 2 red laser diodes? I guess one is for reading and one is for burning the cds? How should I test wich one is which?

Cd/rw rom should only have infared diode, which would look red to the eyes. I wouldn't recommend you building a laser with those diode.

Afaik, ir diodes/leds are not seeable by the naked eye, you use a camera or other image capturing device to see the ir. But in my place I have 2 red laser diodes.

Originally I thought I had one IR and one red laser but after testing I found out I had 2.
