soon im going to be making a green laser from a custom host and what batteries should i use

1. 2 AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery

or

2. 1 AW 18650 Protected 2200 mAh

what are the real differences going to be here becuase i already have a AW RCR123a Protected 750 mAh Battery with a charger for my 50mw (thanks to sandidgepatrick) so i'd rather have to buy 1 more RCR123a than a 18650 with a charger.

Depends on your needs. 2 RCR123a's will give you double the voltage, but still only 750mAh. One 18650 will only be 4.2v, but will have three times the capacity.

It really depends on what the driver you use needs. If it will work in the 3v-4.2v range, go with the 18650. If it needs more than 4.2v, go with the two RCR123a's.

If you're planning on making a green laser then 1 Li Ion (1*18650) should be more than enough. I believe the forward voltage on the IR 808nm diode is around 1.8V so you might even need a buck driver.
