2 questions about DX 200mw red or "dilda."

1. Why is it nicknamed dilda? is it the obvious reason of what it physically looks liike:thinking:, or is there another meaning.

and

2. I unscrewed the end to check out the driver and noticed there was a potentiometer on it. is it already maxed out? or will turning it up give me a tiny increase in power? or will it make my laser asplode?

and before you say search, i searched for half an hour and couldnt find answers to either of my questions.

Don't mess with it!!
Messing around with the pot will only harm it. If you want more power, buy a stronger laser.
And, yes, it's name derives from what you think.

even though it is a red, it is still exciting to see it burn things on contact.

unfortunately, the spacebar on my laptop now looks like a map lol.

If it's the oldstyle dilda, IE: roundnose, use 3.6V batteries. You will see a 30-50mW increase.(limit duty cycle to less then 1 min.):yh:
I've read the new style does not do this.(different driver?)
Also a Jayrob glass lens will bump it up another 25mW or so.
I've seen 270mW Max.out of mine.:drool:

yea it is the semi-circle aperature.

i took it off and put on a axis collimator/lense, cause it focuses 10x better and is not wobbly and shitty.
