I am looking to buy my first green laser pointer. I have been reading up on them but can not decide. I want it to have a 100% duty cycle and be between 5 and 30mw (15 to 30 is preferred if I can have it shipped to US). The only ones that I have found are the wicked laser core (I read wicked lasers are not the best) and a 5mw from glow lasers.

Any help is appreciated. Thank you.

Any green pointer in that power range already has a 100% duty cycle. Don't get hung up on the chinese copy-pasta specs.

Unless if it's an eBay pointer, perhaps. Most pen-style lasers will get warm after a minute or two of continuous operation

what kind of power u want? a cheap 5mw only or? u might aswell buy a cheap on ebay laser pen u can shine those until the battery runs out i bet. And they are also alot over spec those pens above 10mw and up for sure.

Depend of how much money he want to spend, laser type...etc....etc....

For green lasers in his preferred power range, laserbtb is the best choice.

If he doesn't have money for that, he could always buy a few greenies from feebay...

Does it need to be handheld?

You should give us some more info...
I don't see why the laser would be kept on for more than 5 mins without letting it to cool for a bit.

Well, you can have custom built handheld laser with big heat sink...

For a first green laser I would recomend an 30mW one, maybe in the pen style host, because you don't need big heat sinking for this.
