How long should I expect the batteries to last in my 1.4A 445? They are the blue TrustFire 16340's that say 880 mah. I seem to only be getting 10 minutes out of them.

Please explain your question.. It doesnot make any sense at all..
Battery-life Is directly proportional to Battery Capacity and Inversly proportional to current draw.

Current Draw however depends on what type of driver setup you are using.

Buck driver or linear driver ?

If you want a definitive answer, put a DMM to your tailcap and measure amp draw there.

Forgetting the previous answers (although totally relevant of course), your 10 minute time is to be expected considering the batteries.

Trustfire - 880mAh?

Divide that by 2 and you will be a lot closer to the actual capacity.

Well, while on the subject of battery life, I'm going to be making a setup pretty soon using two AW IMR 16340's rated for 550mAh. They will feed a mohgasm 16mm round linear driver to the tune of 1.62A. Any idea what battery life will be?

Afaik a linear should pull roughly 1.62A @ whatever voltage, and drop it down to whatever the LED needs, burning off excess. 1.62A drain on 550mAh batteries would get you 20 minutes... more or less.

Thanks. Those IMR's really do sacrifice capacity for current, but 20 mins of use is probably what I'll use in a week. That, and my charger will charge both at once. Makes me a happy camper.

Just4FunReally - Depending on if the host, you might be able to use AW IMR 18350 instead of the 16340's. They are rated slightly higher at 700mAh.

It's the C6 so it can fit the 18 diameter, but the charger I have is for CR123's. I'm not bothered by the capacity either, I just wanted an estimate. Thanks for the suggestion though, should I ever want a longer batt life I will know what to do. :D

Ah well then, if it's for a C6 a better alternative would be to get an extension tube and throw 2 x 18650's in there :D

I dislike the way the extension tube makes the host look like a.... feminine toy... But yes, that would be another option. :D Gotta love the C6 for its versatility, at the very least. as long as you can fit your driver in that pill...
