    Laser diode array

Hi, gyus. Just curious. There are laser diode arrays being sold on ebay, which give away huge amount of power, like 40W here ebay dot...

Please, help me take apart a cheap laser pointer &

Re: Please, help me take apart a cheap laser point Thanks guys! Did just like you said, well I`m too clumsy, and did crack it up a little. It looks beaten but what needs to be good is still good, so I`ll try to choke my diode into this housing. Cheers!

Building A dvd Laser - need help

How did you manage to get bluray laser done, and still be asking these strange questions? What am I missing here?

    Working out laser power output.

and what if you would have taken a thermometer, paint it's bulb with black permanent marker, point your laser at it, and note how temp changes with time? then calculate LD power.

Please, help me take apart a cheap laser pointer &

Hi, guys. While awaiting for my aixiz housing to arrive, I`ve already assembled LD drive and an open can 20x dvd-rw diode. Works like charm. Apparently no optics around, so I`ve bought a cheap ass <$1, <1mW little chinese piece of shit of a pointer, in hope to take it apart and put my diode...

    Moon in them spotlights.

So, what do you think will be the diameter of 200 mW red laser pointer beam, when and if it reaches the moon. I guess some photons will reach the moon, right? I dont remember school physics, but I thought energy loss was smth like twice on every meter or smth like that, nevermind beam divergence...

    Moon in them spotlights.

Hi, just thought you laserfreaks would find this info interesting. This is what they use to light the moon up (and measure distance to it). The laser is a Leopard solid-state picosecond product from Continuum Lasers. Pumped by flashlamps at 20 Hz, 1.064 [ch956]m laser emission from the Nd:YAG...

    Newbie`s choice at under 150$?

Hi, guys! This is one great forum! I`ve wanted to have a laser, since I first saw cheap chinese laser pointers around, dunno maybe 12-15 years ago?)) So, what choices have I got? I want to spend 150$ and I want it to burn matches, balloons, etc. The problem is there are so many pointers...
