Tiny rechargeable green laser built into a keychain flashlight

I recently discovered the new 520nm green laser diodes that don't require the frequency doubling stage that regular 532nm green lasers need, which means I could finally build one as small as I wanted. I gutted a Nitecore Tube and turned it into a 30mW rechargeable green laser pointer with some...

Scratch-built green laser with display and instrumentation

Here's a video of my latest laser project - it's a scratch-built 100mW green laser with a graphical display and instrumentation of current, voltage, and temperature. It has adjustable output power, a password lock for high power, and is usb-c rechargeable.

445nm Pointer build with Laser Lock security system

Hi Anselm, Thanks for your interest in my project. I'm still around. Yes, I have built up a few Laser Lock boards to sell, and I can customize passwords to whatever the buyer wants. everett

445nm Pointer build with Laser Lock security system

I usually plan out my code with a flowchart, but the programming is all done in assembly language (code). Most people find it pretty unintuitive, but I have grown to like it much more than higher level languages. Working in assembly puts the programmer much closer to the actual operation of the...

Casio Projector used as a projector?

I have tested it and the projector will not run with any of the three diode strings disconnected. I didn't try removing a few and shorting across them to cut down the number in the string--the driver might be able to compensate if it's a true CC driver, but I sure wouldn't risk the other 6 or 7...

445nm Pointer build with Laser Lock security system

Here's my latest laser build: 445nm projector diode Flexdrive @ 700mA IMR 16340 Li-ion DX 1x123A flashlight host The thing that makes this pointer really special is that it is the first use of my Laser Lock system to increase the safety of the device. I have used a PIC 10F206 microcontroller...

My Blu-ray build, with focus ring

Here's the file that I printed from. It has a few different labels, including some lower power blurays and some greens. I realized later that the 50mW green's class is incorrect though, should be 4. It's meant to be printed with no scaling on 8.5x11" I couldn't upload PDF or bmp, so hopefully...

My Blu-ray build, with focus ring

Hello, I've been a lurker for a long time, and I've received a lot of great information from this forum, so here's an attempt to give back-- as far as I know, my focus dial idea hasn't been used elsewhere already, so it may be  of use to some of you. Here's my Dorcy Bluray build. It uses...

DX 26$ not "true" 50 mw laser

I know i'm a bit late on contributing to this thread, but i can offer some info: i have 2 of the DX true 30mW and 1 of the not-true 50mW. the true 30's are MUCH brighter and have MUCH more reliable output levels. i'm sure that there is a huge amount of variation, so my experiences might not...
