Re: "CLOSED.!!!" GB: For The New 3.8mm Red Diodes 660nm (Taking Payments for Round 2) Yes, thanks for the update. I'm sure these little gems will be worth the wait.

    200mw and no beam?

I have several red 660nm lasers. I can see the beam faintly even with moderate artificial lighting if I look from behind the laser even on my smallest red (~220mW). Outdoors I can see very clear red beams - an advantage of living in nice humid South Florida. I am not familiar with the lasers...

    Showing off my PHR-803T build

Nice build, Ginge! Congrats. You're gonna love building lasers (even if your wallet won't! :na:). I have an old PHR-803T laser that's still going strong in a Jayrob pocket mini host. It outputs 95mW. It's driven at only 90mA, but I have a 405-G-1 lens on it.

    Real UV flashlight

I have that light. Using my eyeglasses as UV filters (UV400 coated) they do filter out much of the UV light, and much of the overall power so most of the light produced is UVA, since the eyeglass lenses are designed to block UVA. I tested the output using fluorescent materials. It's similar...

FS 1st generation kryton host - LPF donation

Nope, no glue. Still a great, stable laser though. I also have the matching red that came with it. Yes, I appreciate laser history, too.

FS 1st generation kryton host - LPF donation

I wonder if that very laser is the 6x Kryton Smooth in my care now. She's still going strong at ~215mW with a 405-G-1.

FS: Stainless Steel 18650 Kit! Polished! Perfect for 445...

Thanks! Even the soldering job I did was uncharacteristically good. It doesn't look like I soldered it. :p BTW - Diode from DTR, 405-G-1 lens from Jayrob.

FS: Stainless Steel 18650 Kit! Polished! Perfect for 445...

The Stainless Steel 18650 kit arrived today! It's the perfect home for my lonely 12x diode. Shipping was unbelievably fast after the short wait for the kit to be built (backlogs = good business). It was well worth the wait. Jayrob recommended the copper heatsink. It turned out to be a good...

Re: "CLOSED.!!!" GB: For The New 3.8mm Red Diodes 660nm (Sending PM's) Put me in for two (2) of these red diodes. Thanks for re-opening this! :thanks:

New 3.8mm red Diodes on the Block.

I might look into a couple of these. Time to find the right-sized modules. I'm a big fan of the classics, so red's high on my list.

Why do we buy lasers, will we get bored with them quickly?

I discovered lasers roughly five years ago - and use them almost every day. I think it's up to the individual to see if he/she gets bored over time. I probably will be a laser freak for years to come. This entire forum is chock full of ideas for uses for one's lasers, so it's a good idea to...

    Laserex LLP-100 Review

I have one of these lasers. I bought it on eBay a few years ago - I paid $5 plus shipping for mine. It's a nice little unit but does it eat batteries. Jerry's spot on about why the divergence is fairly high. I expected that from this unit prior to purchase. The beam is perfectly round and...

My first red build - Bolly BL-8006

@tsteele - Square case = no roll = win. @AbramF15 - Seems like you're at work. Maybe you shouldn't be looking at forums on duty. tsteele can post his photos any way he prefers.

There HERE. Eat your heart out 500mW Mitsubishi's ML501P73

I actually prefer open can. No annoying diode windows to get in the way of the coherent goodness.

    LPC-826 graphs

I have an LPC-826 in a pocket mini conservatively running at 325mA. Though I've already LED'd a LPC-815 and a LCC red from heavy use (built about 3 years ago) I'd like to see how long this diode will last under the same usage rate. I prefer to build within the limits of heatsinking in the...
