    Revisiting LPF

Hi everyone! Use to be a fairly active member here a few years back! Unfortunately my degree at university seem to put this hobby on the back burners for quite a while! Happy to be back and hopefully budget prevailing get a build underway after getting up to date with everything. Also with the...

Surely this can't be for real?

Guess I missed the wavelength, but still they couldn't of made a more contradictory description, I really hope they aren't sending out 532nm goggles with that laser.

Surely this can't be for real?

Click on the laser in action tab and they have a few beam shots, it looks like an IR laser which would also tie in with the "pink" colour. The description on the laser is just a bunch of sales crap designed to make it look like they know what they're talking about... If it was a pink laser why...

    Actual Laser Laws by Country

Happy to live in the UK, still I never take my lasers out of the house because if a policeman takes a disliking to the lasers and doesn't fully under stand the legal position of them there's nothing you can really do to stop them confiscating them. Not worth the hassle IMHO.

$70 Shipped - Bulk Lot of Good Stuff - Knives, batteries, LEDs etc.

Re: Bulk Lot of Good Stuff - Knives, batteries, LEDs etc. How much would you be looking for the "12 Large Single Blade Folding Knives with Clip and Serrated Blade"? You can shoot me a price in PM if you don't want to post it in the thread, also what would I be looking at for postage to the UK...

Randomly recieved a free Arctic in the mail.

I think if you read up a little more on Wickeds rep around the forum you might understand why theres more debate as to what people might do in this situation. I'm sure the story might be a little different if for instance Jayrob sent out an additional host by mistake for example.

Feeler: Doing an organized groupbuy with DinoDirect - 300mW FireDragon 532nm

Re: Feeler: Doing an organized groupbuy with DinoDirect - 635nm (not a typo) 200 to 2 Looks like a decent laser, why was this under the video reviews though? s3ObBn5iM3g

"hdd galvos" Experimentation and project in the works

That's one hell of a circuit, I struggle getting my head around a test load

FS: 1.4w 445nm in custom host, Sandblast grip.

Might need image resizing, not sure if drop box gives the option. If not imageshack.us gives a resize option, although they've tried making their direct links for embedding in the thread harder to get to, you have to right click now and then press open image in new tab, then copy the URL and...

    Why??!?!!!!

I'm gonna go with the heat causing all the particles in the air to rise and the beam there for not showing as there's nothing to reflect of instead of the mirage theory. The reason I went for the former over the later theory is the mirage whilst it could interfere with the laser as hot air has...

    Help with I.D.'ing Laser Diode

I hadn't bothered to click on this thread for days when it kept appearing in the "new posts" just because the title was the classic help me ID this diode which is the impossible question. Then after it kept popping up I clicked on it out of interest to see what was going on, glad I did, I love...

    445nm >FIRST BUILD<

http://laserpointerforums.com/f65/8-diode-445-build-64296.html I believe that is essentially what you are trying to achieve, but that would be the "correct" way of going about it, instead of a car battery and a telescope. I'm sure most people (atleast me anyways) when they joined the hobby...

    Smallest CO2 you've seen?

Like milirad was saying, have the platform holding the piece your going to etch move instead of the laser head, that way you can have it stationary above and just have the platform move x/y.

    Weird "Dust?" around the DOT

You've probably burned something closed to the lens and some soot or dirt has got on the lens. If you can get to the lens blow some air onto it with an pressurised air canister, or use your lungs. If that doesn't work get a cotton Q-tip and give it a careful wipe. That should clean it up.

Mac vs PC - Let's Keep it Civil.

Fair enough :) I own a macbook air 2nd gen which I use on a day to day basis, just because it starts up instantly, reliable looks sexy and I like OSX. I also love browsing the net and being able to use the trackpad to navigate, backing/forward through pages is so easy and scrolling is...

Mac vs PC - Let's Keep it Civil.

This thread is just going to end in a massive flamewar, theres no real answer people use the platform they prefer most, there's no point in trying to discuss something that is COMPLETELY down to personal taste, especially when people always feel the need to carry on "discussing" until the other...

Any one know someone who makes stone pipes?

What kind of pipe? Not a great idea asking a laser forum if theres stone sculptor? Might have better luck on a different more specific forum :)

    WANTED: A nice laser :)

I have these two for sale: http://laserpointerforums.com/f39/fs-150mw-ehgemus-100mw-mxdl-blu-ray-63808.html The green is the best at burning as you can see in the video on the thread, the blu-ray isn't a brilliant burner as it's around 100mW. The green is 60GBP + postage.

Custom Heat Sink (request for quote)

How will you press fit the diode inside the heatsink? You'll need to make sure that gap is big enough behind the diode to fit the rear end of an aixiz module so you can press fit the diode in properly. Edit: As to forum machinists, theres Ehgemus, ray j neal and I think Wannaburn has a lathe...
