    Searching for 495nm

I have too a bunch of binned ones from the first batch ( look into my thread about binning them and also the selling thread). I can get 497-502 directly from sharps factory (I posted their stock list in the discord channel some time ago). Best Singlemode

    Single Mode Diodes

Nice from you. Lasers as intertaiment for a new laser fan is high priority. Nope, every bit added to this forum is additional information. Insightful or not depends on the contact Nope Of course there is no problem with a personal opinion. This statement makes every content here completely...

    Single Mode Diodes

So what's the insight here? You can make perfect fringes with a lightbulb ( double slit experiment ) Congratulations to your long experience, but I don't see any additional information here ( The fringes look very nice though) Singlemode

Results: Collimating with cylindrical lens instead of Asphere

This is why cyl lenses are used for astigmatism correction. Same divergence for every distance Singlemode

Coherent beam combining if they are single mode in frequency works like a charm. Singlemode

    675nm / 690nm SM diodes + 1.2W 659nm

There are some cool applications, especially LIDAR (less background at 690nm from the sun than at lower WL) and blood flow monitoring through the skin. No idea how big this is compared to other applications but I bet 20$ that if some reseller buys 10k pcs. of these, the price will be much lower...

    675nm / 690nm SM diodes + 1.2W 659nm

Ok, if you count some batches that were not hitting the target wl and somehow showed up somewhere, then you are right. These were a lucky draw for us. If there would be more demand for them, they would be now offered officially. Nichia has these WL as a stock item since years (and the price...

    675nm / 690nm SM diodes + 1.2W 659nm

What diode got more expensive with time? PS: https://www.aptechnologies.co.uk/home/news/news/qdl-685nm

    675nm / 690nm SM diodes + 1.2W 659nm

Have 4x the 690nm diode. Nice beam and the price will definitely fall, since these ones are samples from the first batch. Who can wait a bit, should get them cheaper soon. Also 100mw ones from another company are sold as a tester, they are way more cheaper and show no kink up to ~ 200 mW output...

Building a orange (613nm) Laser from scratch with off-the-shelf parts (and for cheap!)

Your argument won't get better if you just say the opposite of mine. Think what you want about temperature and MTBF. Every diode laser textbook has an exponential relationship between temperature and MTBF. But by your standards it's not relevant, right? The data in the paper I posted is from my...

Anyone know where I can find a Nichia NDB4816 or equivalent?

The PLT5 450B is speced for 100mW, the Nichia for 500mW. Overdriving one diode at 3x the rating (and hugely reducing the lifetime) and comparing it to a non overdrived one is like apple and oranges. The Nichia can output 1000mW without seeing even a sign of thermal roll over with proper a...

Anyone know where I can find a Nichia NDB4816 or equivalent?

I have a few of them in my lab. As far as I know only Nichia sells these blue singlemode diodes speced for 500mW (I run them at 700mW with temperature stabilization now for more than half a year) for a bit more above than 2k $ per piece (got one engeenering sample from the first batch they sold...

Please provide more information, diode datasheet, your measurement or. s.e. Otherwise I can only say: Nothing to add here

And the heating will kill the diode pretty fast Feel free to stand to every point you like. I am not interested in calculating part costs etc...

Building a orange (613nm) Laser from scratch with off-the-shelf parts (and for cheap!)

Why I need two? Your setup ( that is actually very cool) has also one diode and not two. You can purchase even a single one. That's why the price is higher. Everything less than a full lot ( i think they package them in 5 boxes with 200 diodes each) requires someone open one and pick it. 1 or...

Building a orange (613nm) Laser from scratch with off-the-shelf parts (and for cheap!)

You can get the 488nm sharp laser diodes wavelength selected from 475nm-500nm for about 400$ per diode (if you order only a few and not 2k or more. This is definitely much cheaper than the cost of a high level cooling/heating assembly and can be just inserted into the usual diode mounts. Singlemode

Looking to buy a sharp 473nm/477nm/480nm Laser Diode

I have a quote here for the 500mW single mode blue diodes (from 435-465)nm for 2,258USD . Ans a quote for the NDA4116: EUR2052 (100mW speced) and you can choose the WL. So a little more, but on Ebay you can find old laser at this wavelength for a bargain and extract the diode. Nichia has a...

Looking to buy a sharp 473nm/477nm/480nm Laser Diode

Fir this price you will gett a 200mW Nichia diode (you can choose your WL) and they have a great beam profile.
