Building 5mw driver for blue diode - help

We adjusted one for 5v (per the diodes 'regular' voltage spec on the website), but only getting a couple hundred mA. We're having to use several resistors since we're still playing with it, so we think we just stayed up too late on it and missed something, ha. We'll do some more boarding tonight.

Building 5mw driver for blue diode - help

Thanks. Bread boarded one LM317 cc circuit, and the power output was weird - we're calling it a night and will come back at it tomorrow after some more forum input. That link should work - I'm not logged in and have used it to copy over specs to a friends' phone. (Have one with specs and...

Building 5mw driver for blue diode - help

We made the circuit here http://www.learningaboutelectronics.com/Articles/Laser-diode-circuit.php for the 5mw circuit and tested it working with a LED We tried using this diode http://o-like-ui.kancart.com/item_detail/148#!detail but can't get it powered - the specs don't show a minimum power...

    Disappointment with Aixiz

I might see about copying over email log to avoid any bias, but suffice it to say: the experienced sucked. Called, and was answered by a very friendly guy who asked that I email him. Emailed, listed the pieces I wanted, and heard back within a reasonable number of business days. He later said...

    Anyone from O-like on here?

10fenny - did you ever hear back? I'm having the same problem.

Need help assuring low-power and correct nm

I do plenty of soldering, and currently just stick to phone repair under a microscope. I did my research, thus, no 405s, as stated and re linked to new topic. Not interested in burning things or DJ shows, just another aspect of a project =) As repeatedly stated: no interest in using the 405s...

Need help assuring low-power and correct nm

Thank you for the input! I've actually moved on to combining, and just need to find a box host (instead of a cylinder, for mounting and hardwiring purposes) before it starts coming together. I mentioned you over there! Ha. Probably getting the red module from Houston. 405 seemed ideal at first...

    Hello, World

Thanks! I'll probably get a video up next weekend of that project aspect. I started in the violet forums, but I'm concerned about good visibility without goggles (since it's a prop to show off). Now I'm trying to gather a parts list over on this thread for just combing a 450 and 650 nm box...

    Hello, World

All this research into the light world, and I've missed the welcome pages! My projects are more detailed in other parts of the forum, so: My reason for jumping in to these seas is for a Gaurdians of the Galaxy Infinity Stone orb/display. It's kinda cool. We're halfway on our 3d print, have the...

Verifying parts before a magenta build.

Ugh. Yep, thanks, didn't see that. Their site has two lenses, but are each coated. I guess the next trick is finding good uncoated combiners. Stupid purple props. All in the name of safety. Please keep me updated on any info you find! Edit: snagged a pair of used ones that pass 650 and reflect...

Verifying parts before a magenta build.

Hi all - after limited help and days of searching, I've settled on combining 650 and 450nm lasers for my project. The output goal is low-power since it will be diffused as a prop, and that seems to be my curse - everyone just wants to burn stuff. It looks like my build will have to come from...

Need help assuring low-power and correct nm

Hi all - very informative forum so far. I have a project needing accurate (rating), but low power violet lasers. To convey my current progress, I made a ~2 inch "crystal", measured in some diffusion material, and am trying to accomplish the crystal to be visible with the naked eye. The beads...
