I have read numerous posts about the cheap laser pens and IR leakage. I bought a couple of the "sets of three" for about 15 bucks from a couple of sellers.

I picked up an ebay Ophir, a power distribution board from Laserbee and a heatsink from Mrcrouse. I combined them with a Ramsey regulated 12 volt power supply, a yellow LED voltmeter from ebay and some parts from Radio Shack:
It's functional and I will use it to check my ebay pens, O-Like...

I know, I paid too much, it's probably refurbished, etc., etc., etc..
But, it's all mine!!
I plan on getting a split-rail power supply for it and at some point hooking it up to an arduino. That will be a couple of months down the road though. I need to build the bank account back up.
