UPDATE:!!
I contacted Kathy, and even contacted the SUPPORT team there.
Today I got the message that they think this product has a quality issue(maybe they got other returns also).
So they asked me RESEND or STORE CREDIT?
I chose store CREDIT :)
I guess I will be searching for some other...
I ordered the NE01.
Its DOA. Does not switch on.
On trying to charge battery red LED keeps flashing very fast which means error according to leaflet.
I also put in a fresh fully charged battery, and it does not work!
Thanks for the info.
When you say FL, did you use a telescope of a DSLR with a 600mm lens?
I am doing to try Orion with 300mm 5.6 lens at ISO 1600
Will use an iOptron Skytracker and shoot around 50 10 second frames at ISO 1600 + 20 darks and 20 flats
So I shot the hunter
Camera A7, Lens Nikon 50mm 1.8 at F2.8
ISO 1000 36 seconds
iOptron skytacker used to get long exposure without trailing
Single exposure
I took many such exposures, and then stacked them in DSS. Here is a cropped view of the M42 and Horsehead nebula
I am still learning...
Thanks for your replies. Using GPS, I think the rescue guys can get to about within 50-60 meters of the vehicle.
Then its mostly shouting and stuff. But if the driver is injured, shining a laser in the sky is easier than clapping and stuff.
I guess 100mW is needed minimum then for dark night...
This is excellent
I think their 20mW is actually 30mW from the chart.
50mW will approach burning category.
For visibility around nautical twilight, 20mW one should be enough, right?
I work with 4x4 and rally teams. Sometimes, a vehicle breaks down in middle of nowhere, and even with GPS coordinates, it can be tough finding it.
I am wondering, in the nightime, will a 20mw Green laser to be shined straight upward by the driver of the vehicle will act as a nice beacon?
I see...
Correct!
EQ mount or any kind of Autoguider is definitely needed. For wide angle astro, you can go for cheap mounts. As you get to 100mm or so, you need something like Vixen Polarie if you want to do serious astrophotography.
However, if you need to use a telescope, you need to invest 400-600$...
Thanks!!
I have a fandy fire which takes 4 18650s and looks the same as the Sky ray king! It cost around 50 USD.
I think first I will assemble driver+led+heatsink, and try a drive from a 12V sealed lead acid UPS battery.
Thanks for your tips. I will buy the driver and the LEd together from the same seller.
Can you offer more tips on your system @ionlaser555
I have never made a flashlight before.
So I guess I need
1. Lens assembly with LEd chip - Sorted out, the link has everything
2. Driver - From link
3. Heat...
