    A little lesson on heatsinks

.925 silver. Guys need to be thinking of alloys. The thermal properties of silver and copper combined. Gallium cored, diamond dust impregnated .925 silver. This is what my PC's heatsink is made of with it seated with IC diamond 24k diamond thermal compound. The processor runs at an oc'ed freq of...

    First Build: 2.5w Handheld

Not to sure because Ive never seen that guy before. But it looks like the pill, creates the connection from the batteries to the driver. It looks like that pill used to have a driver setup on it but no longer does or it was never installed to begin with, because where resistors and caps and...

    First Build: 2.5w Handheld

Very nice laser friend! I too have the heat up and shut down issue. What happens is the diode gets to hot and the driver auto offs itself and hence the diode. The driver doesn't really heat up at all but if its in close proximity to the diode and heat sink, it helps to drop a COPPER heat sink on...

How to: 589 or 594 nm

Thank you both for your input on my quest to a mind boggling-ly beautiful laser!!! To bad my sig refuses to work because id love to show off what grasped my interest in lasers and specifically, 589nm lasers! I think what im looking for from what ive gathered is a 589nm laser. I saw someone on...

How to: 589 or 594 nm

Hello! So Im interested in the 589-594 nm range lasers. My favorite color is orange and I love the golden yellow/orange shades of color. I was interested in building a 589 (preferably) or 594 nm laser but I cant really seem to find much info on them. I want to make one that has the most visible...

Hello there Gun! Glad to see you finally made an account too! Welcome to the forum! To help you out with the glasses question, check this thread. I found it in the 445 nm laser forum, where I spend most of my time. This forum also has some threads on Australian laws, customs and the such. It...

2X 18650, heat sink, host questions

I stated that I was using 2X 18650's. I was lead to believe that the host would except them from Sinner's statement. I have never held in my hands a 14650 battery so I didn't know it is a smaller size. I have asked the seller if he has a 2X 18650 host valued at 75-79$ with which an even exchange...

Building the JD-Lasers 3W MagLite Laser (PIC HEAVY)

Amazing! I like the size of the 2C mags as well. 2D just feels like a billy club LOL. Cant wait to see it in action. Gotta say, the added thermal sensor with warnings is a great feature and the added security of the key switch with warnings is reassuring. The epoxy is also a good idea, ill be...

How about this for a vintage host?

WOW thats amazing! I actually have a flashlight just like that only it has a larger, magnetic on/off switch made of black plastic. Never thought Id see one like it. I think the body tube is so one of a kind and will make a totally unique laser host, even with its lens/reflector housing. ;)

2X 18650, heat sink, host questions

Thank you! I am going to message DTR about canceling my eBay order or having the price reduced to match what is on his website and Rick about canceling the T1 order. If i dont need the T1 then Id rather put that money towards the host Ehgemus has. Hopefully they will both be understanding and...
