Why not just go for one of Yobresal's 1.4W blue ice laser? It's half the cost and stronger and not to mention it is focusable unlike the arctic and spartan. Though if I were to choose between spartan or arctic I would take the spartan any day. And I own one.

So i'm going to try the socket technique for starters on this next diode if i cant get the current one working. I think my problem is that i was using pliers at first to try and press it in myself which might have broken the connection.

I don't know I think I should just purchase another diode unless I can fix my problem with this one. Where can i get the little blue shrink wrap tubes that came with the kit? for the diode pins.

The window on it did not crack or shatter. But I scraped up the back of the diode with pliers while trying to plug it in. Also I notice the plug that holds the pins came loose but it looked like the pins were still attached. Also could it be the batteries I'm using? Tenergy lifepo4 3.2v rcr123a?

I tried pressing it in with pliers at first. Then I used a socket in a vice, which pressed it in, but came in lop sided a little. Next time ill start with the socket and it perfectly straight.
