^This 30mW is the limit in daylight and it's very dim. And that's for 532nm (green). If you use a 445 or 650nm it won't appear as bright.

1000mw would cost a lot of money indeed. I have a 300mW green, if you want a good quality, not to expansive laser, check out laserbtb.com. Got mine for around $230 ;) Edit : above 5mW is illegal any way, so why couldn't you get more than 100mW ? Laserbtb ships via dhl, marks it as a 10$...

I had an issue with them too. They marked my item as shipped and forgot to send it but billed me of course. They didn't answer via the contact page on their site, I had to open a PP dispute, and then they answered very quickly, I got refunded (PP scares them :p). Order on laserbtb next time...
