Not sure if you stillneed an answer on this or not but I figure I will give it just in case. The 3 element glass lens will work fine for collimation, so will the g lenses. The main difference between the 3 lenses will be losses in transmitted light, you probably wont be able to tell a difference...
alx, not sure what you are seeing over the lens? There is some on the very edges of the can which is where the lens mounts are glued. There is NOTHING on or blocking the lenses. The original pics were taken with a 12MP camera, I can send you those to check so you can see better, maybe its on...
Not sure, probably less than now.:) Actually, I set the date on this camera and it changes all the time. It also says there is no sd card in when there is, sometimes it will start with a white screen and wont do anything. Its a Kodak 1273, takes good pics when it works right.
I can get a better pic yes, but they were shown from behind to show the pins were not messed up and do not have solder still blobbed on them from extraction.
petters , the lenses from these fit my modules lens mount. They are the old standard metal frame lens mount in a Aixis module, no need...
Using the diode and lens would require something similar to an Aixis module. You may want to do some searching and reading here on the site to understand more on using these components. Thanks for your interest.
Every thing seems to be in place, the lens onside the module the diode is pressed into looks very strange. It sits at an angle and looks almost like a focal lens but yet doesn't.
Anyone have experience with this little laser? I purchased one for VERY cheap, it looked brand new but did not include a power supply. I couldn't find out anything about it on the internet but ran across a power unit on ebay. It works, but is very dim and does not have a good dot. So I got to...
Just got one of these drives and tore it apart today. Focusing mechanism in it was pretty neat. I think I am going to mount this into a few ounces of copper and use a TTL lab supply and make it into a small wood burner/engraver. I love UV
I am curious if there is any need or want for fiber optic adapters? I have the tooling for SMA 905/906 at the moment but if there is big enough need I could get the tooling for others also. I see the B&W labby fiber launch adapter for over $100 all the time, I could make this without the micro...
I ask because I want to make a fixed laser on an engraver and am considering using a larger focal lens than the normal 6mm ones. would it be better to use a beam expander, or just use 2 focus lenses? The first would not focus tight, just use it bring the beam in and make it round. I want to use...
Don't do it, I purchased a 445 1.2w and 405 700mw 2 years ago and until 2 weeks ago didn't know what I was missing. I have been using Panasonic 123A batteries, I brought 130 of them back from Iraq, so I figured why not. Recently I tore down a Dewalt 18v pack that had a broken ribbon cable...
Never even noticed you asked about my Smithy, better late than never on this subject. It is a good machine to learn on, I know a lot of people say not to buy Smithy, to get a cheaper no name machine. I can say yes and no to this statement. You can save money by getting the cheaper machine but...
I purchased a couple yag chambers and some yag crystals and want to make a dual head couple hundred watt laser. I also have a 100w medical yag 1064 that I am waiting to fire up, it launches into a fiber and I want to run the fiber to an engraver table. I also have some short yag crystals that...
Jmillerdoc, your 12 are going out today. I made them thicker, I just hope they fit. I guess if they don't, send them back and I will thin them down some. The fins may help a little if you take the back of the module off or cut the back of it off like I do. I want to do some with a domed top so...
