How do I build a laser?

I think the kit I linked to contains the same diode/driver you linked to earlier. You would lower the power through the driver, but I'm not sure what the minimum mA it takes to make the 445nm's lase. PM Garoq (Gary) or contact him through the SL site. I'm pretty sure the code is in the thread...

Plastic safety glasses for eye protection?

No, but if it is truly <1mW, then you don't really need glasses. Just don't shine the beam into your eye for hours at a time. Most Chinese imports, even when labeled <1mW, are extremely over spec and could in fact require goggles. Glenn

Just order Rifle 1W from Lazerer

I thought the non-rechargeable 123's were only 3.0V whereas the rechargeable 16340's and other similar rechargeables were 3.6 to 3.7V? Anybody else? Glenn

Help with my Aurora C6 laser

You'll still have to solder the correct wires together and install the module and heat sink in such a way that you don't twist the wires off the diode, driver or break you newly soldered joints. Glenn

    pressing my diode

Even if that is the case, I run my 445nm's in copper modules which means I remove them from the regular module and re-press them in copper. Not the most efficient I know, but at least I don't have to sloder leads to diode pins. I have not practiced enough for that yet, but I will at the end of...

Canadian restrictions on portable lasers (Official info release from Laserglow)

"Although, for the time being, there are no specific RED Regulations for laser devices." Does this mean that they don't actually have any regulations and are just trying to throw their weight around or what? Glenn

Canadian restrictions on portable lasers (Official info release from Laserglow)

No, not at all, but it will eventually come to that I think. The .gov knows that not many people are, so they make "interpretations" from their cubes and just keep pushing. Glenn
