That is very generous, and I will absolutely take you up on that offer!
Pm me the best way to pay you, or I can just email you a packing slip if you give me your info
I’ve been basing my searching on his post. I would like to have at least the 1W output it originally had, but from my understanding the OSRAM should deliver that as well. Regarding the spot, I don’t expect a diode to deliver a perfect spot, but I figured there might be a difference. Anyway...
The question still remains open.
Is there a way I can easily test the current control, using a resistor + multimeter for example. Unfortunately I don’t have any diodes Ican use. Maybe I can open a flashlight.
is there any appreciable benefit to the Osram vs the M-140 (other than being new...
Ooooooooo more power..... OOOOO
[edit]
Sorry for the facetious reply. It was way more than I was expecting!
I will try to find a nice M-140 diode or an Osram PLTB450B.
If I went with a new driver and different diode, would I lose the factory safety and LED functionality? I quite like what...
I checked the circuitry, it’s putting out the appropriate voltage. I just have to double check the current output, and if it’s doing good current control, all I have to do is replace the diode.
Way back when I fried my arctic spyder pro III laser by putting two of the smaller type lithium batteries in it.
I think I fried the diode, however upon disassembly, it looks like it might have just fried the cable. I’m looking to test whether or not the diode is ok, however simultaneously, I...
Thanks for this tip!
I found exactly what I was looking for here.
I still haven't found a thread on the G2 shutting off as soon as it hits high power mode.
Yeah, I know the battery thing was stupid, but I was feeling reckless as the thing hasn't run properly in years.
I will message smeerworst, hopefully he can help me out.
Thanks!
I think I fried my laser.
I stupidly put 2 CR18350 batteries for some dingdong reason causing the laser to glow faintly (despite not being on). Then eventually fry itself. I don't remember if I actually clicked it on or not.
Now the diode won't power on at all. The rest of the laser seems...
Haha, of course I've cleaned the lens. I have a special miniPro II pen from Wicked Lasers of course, and as far as I can tell, it works wonders on lenses... But I still have some weird ring thing around the beam. I'll get pics up later, but probably in a dedicated thread.
As far as I can tell the Arctic was an unprecedented laser for the price at the time it was released. Many people thought it was too good to be true, and in many ways it was... however Wicked Lasers was still able to deliver a product that came pretty close to specifications. Honestly, not too...
Yeah, in my lurking I've already discovered the 445 nm board. I'm actually very happy with my Arctic. So far the only problem I've had was it shutting down on high power, but that was due to a bad end cap with too high resistance.
That, and right now my lens has a sort of ring thing around...
Howdy,
After Wicked Lasers pulled down their forum (probably too many people complaining about the arctic), and after browsing the internet, I came across you guys, and I think this is the best place for me to share and talk about my Arctic Spyder III G2.
Thought I would say hi and introduce...
