Hence why my pens have lived for over 4 years, drive the laser harder the less time it lasts. It's why Jack doesnt cover overvoltage when pushed with lithium primaries which i think can reach 1.7 volts when brand new. It is being overdriven at 3.4 volts.
Those laser pens draw alot of current that alkalines have a tough time providing without alot of voltage sag. Alkaleaks just cannot sustain 1/2 or 3/4 amp draws for long at all. Use lithiums or nimh rechargables.
I have a 4 or 5 year old 100mw pen from optotronics that lasts maybe 10 to 15...
Well i know them as 15270 also actually but thats +- thickness of the wrap and manufacturing tolerances eitherway.
Are those watson batteries any good, moderately so, or actually rated 350mah?
I'm looking for decent cr2 li ion for an older 30mw green handheld i use for star pointing with my telescope. I havent been able to find many for sale at all other than sketchy ***fire batteries which i wont use anymore.
Does anyone know of a source for a couple of rcr2s that arent new old stock?
Hi daguin, its been a long time since ive been to this site and im wondering what completed lasers you build. What im specifically looking for is a 650 nm 200mw+- focusable with some water resistance. Good heatsinking for 2 minute duty cycle. Power from 2 cr123 primaries. Use will be to...
It's been a long while since ive been on this site but I'm looking to buy a completed laser. 650nm, 200mw+-, good heatsinking for 2 minutes on duty cycle that can run on 2 cr123 primaries, focusable. It would be good if its water resistant to some extent. Use would be to defocus it to a spot...
If you put it through a beam expander i have no doubt that it could be seen if they were IN the path of the laser light. 100mw beam 1 mrad 1 mm diameter put through telescope 150 power properly focused is a dot( well splotch) roughly 4 feet wide at 150 miles of unknown brightness due to...
Universities typically have chemicals of that nature. Thorium nitrate, uranyl acetate etc. Not sure how you would go about actually getting someone to get you some though without getting into some sort of federal trouble.
An important difference though between a 405nm laser and a uv flashlight is the usually lower wavelength of the flashlight and that they pretty much have no duty cycle of any kind.
I was there at the small get together in fall but I'll be there for this meet as well. I am not nearly as much into lasers as many of you. Nothing to sell, nothing really to trade, but ill bring all my lasers flashlights and pocket knives as was brought last time. A low to medium power UV...
I have a question about this also but its for between heatsink and the host body. Would arctic silver 5 thermal compound appreciably increase the duty cycle of a laser or would it be a waste of money for only a small increase?
I liked that host but i joined this forum to late to have IgorT to build me one of his excellent lasers. Was in contact via skype for a few weeks arranged build specs then he just was gone. No more contact.
Well hopefully this has close to the duty cycle that igort lasers have.
I am interested in the laser you posted for sale today though i do have a few questions. What payment method do you prefer? How much usage has it had? Do you know the current going to the diode?
I ordered a 5mw pen laser also from optotronics roughly 6 months ago maybe 9 months, not too sure exactly. There is only one real problem with it beyond the fact that it appears so much like most of the other cheap new style pen(though feels a bit heavier so better heat sinking i believe).
It...
