    12W blue driver booster?

and definitely ... when output current is over 1A ... is almost like is not regulated at all ... and its value is dependent by temperature ... ballast (loading resistor) in series with laser diode is a bad option (at higher currents, dissipated power could exceed easier 2W, which will heat it...

    12W blue driver booster?

Hi djQuan, Great to hear such news. To be sure that I understood ok, on your modified version, you are powering it at: - 2 x 18650 Panasonic cells - you are using 2 x IIRC in parallel - regulated output current is 1.2A on each IIRC Question: each IIRC is drawing 2.7A from Panasonic cells...

    12W blue driver booster?

Hi djQuan, I saw your notes on provided link. Hm... not convinced ... maybe you are drawing 2.7A from power source, which is not the same with the current flowing on output circuit, through laser diode. With 4 diodes dummy driver, at 4V2 input, is drawing ~2A from source and is taking out...

    12W blue driver booster?

Dear all, Did someone use this driver in picture attached? It is marked to be booster for blue diodes which support 3.7-4V2 input and 3A output. I am really in doubt that this driver will support 3Amps on output which is meaning at least 12w for blue diodes... I've did some tests using a...

445nm 9mm laser diodes and lenses

thanks wby300, you are fair posting here other pics ... but, what I was afraid seems to be true... some of them looks like it has glue over the cap obstructing partially orifice from when light is going out from diode ... why it looks so dirty? there is no way the extract it cleaner?

445nm 9mm laser diodes and lenses

Hi wby300, I do not know if intentional or not, but from picture above, almost all (excepting) one diode, are shown from behind. If not intentional, could you please to post here, better pictures show front view of those diodes? To convince us that diodes does not look dirty or are not...

445nm 9mm laser diodes and lenses

Hi whby300, Still unclear for me. If I will buy diode and lens, how can I use it together? Any device to mount diode and fit also lens together? Regards, Alx

    driver for IR diodes

@ChaosLord "I have seen adjustable x-drives" ... thanks for hint. yes indeed, seems that is a reality, adjustable x-drives exist ... I'm very curious about lazeerer answer ...

    driver for IR diodes

And another question: "The switching regulator IC chip has an efficiency as high as 91%" Can somebody explain what does it mean 91% efficiency? As I could understand, it is referring about heat-sink, but I cannot understand how and what exactly it mean ...

    driver for IR diodes

Hi Duke, I will take care about it, but it would be nice if will be 15mm dia. This one is 16.8mm ... but I will take care about it ... sent a PM to lazereer and waiting his answer. He produced a lot of PCB, and this is confusing users but is proving that is still looking for and identity and...

    driver for IR diodes

That's the point :) , I would like to be adjustable. I cannot use preset currents. As I am able to see: - x-drive come with preset currents. Does exist also adjustable version? - x-drive size is 10.3x15.4 (so will not fit inside Aixiz module) but exist also many other version with smaller PCB...

    driver for IR diodes

Hi Oahu, I found x-drive before to post here. I would like to use it but seems that is suitable for blue diodes. Din you used it with IR? Are you sure is working with IR diodes? Regards, Alx

How healthy are your batteries? (How to measure internal resistance)

I am not sure that I understood correctly. For unprotected cells: "75-150 mOhm - Excellent 150-250 mOhm - Good 250-350 mOhm - Marginal 350-Up mOhm - Bad" And for Protected Cells we should add 50mOhm to above benchmark?

    driver for IR diodes

I am looking to find a small driver able to drive some TO-18 IR diodes (require on output: 2.4V/1A-1.5A). I prefer to be something adjustable (but is not a must) and input up to 4.2V. What you suggest? Regards, Alx

FS: X-Drive V6 3A Buck Driver "Sale and Info"

Is not clear for me: this driver is suitable for IR diodes? I am looking to find a small driver able to drive some IR diodes (require 2.4V/1A-1.5A)

is this one 445nm diode or I received wrong diode?

happy-end story! after almost 3 months, Chinese seller concluded that it was a mistake and sent me in compensation a lot of red diodes and few powerful br diodes (bdr-s06j). thanks to all posters in this thread Regards, Alx

is this one 445nm diode or I received wrong diode?

Chinese peoples ... probably someone "myopic" from their depot :-) Duh... It happens. Thanks to God we clarified it ... Regards, Alx

is this one 445nm diode or I received wrong diode?

Yes indeed. I already told you in private that I know that in the past, you discovered the stamp on some 405nm blue-ray diodes! Now is clear, they shipped to me SF-AW210 instead Casio A140 diodes! Again you are right! Not only the barcode, also the middle pin is shorter than other 2 pins. On...
