I'll add some more been there, done that... I ordered two of these diodes from the start, because I was SURE I'd kill the first one. I think I usually break the thing pressing it in the heat sink, rather than applying power. I was lucky this time and didn't kill either one! I killed a LOC...

Re: 445nm A130 Lens Comparisons! given all that.. my guess is a blob of impurity inside one of the lenses which is acting as its own lens and focusing some extra light to that bright point. or maybe a bubble.. that would act like a lens. To answer your question, it's not supposed to be there.

I got mine. It's very well built. Way more dense than I expected. (component density) Now I've got everything other than the WhiteFusion (heatsinks/optics). I might have to build a little optics table to hold me over until it's available. Thanks for the driver!

hurm.. well, thanks Jay for the 405-g-1, cause I'd be way beyond my impatience tolerance level at this point w/out it :D -edit, there is not a hint of gold in this ar coating.. you might see a bit of white in one of the lenses in one of my photos, but that's simply the overpowering white...

WTF just got my replacement lens, and the coating is exactly the same. BUT, the lens is clearly different.. or, the housing.. it has two small dots on the retainer ring, vs the two notches on the "red" lens. but, the coating is the same?!?!? -ill try to get a pic Ok, so does this look...
